Brindawan Municipality (Rautahat) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Brindawan Municipality (Rautahat district), candidate Ramsnehi Raya Yadav of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,770 (39.16%) votes out of total votes of 14,735 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Binod Prasad Kurmi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 4,417 (21.54%) of votes. The rest of 22 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 4,548 (15.43) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Nurjahan of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,734 (39.36%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Parbatiya Devi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 4,543 (22.38%) of votes and came in second position. Other 7 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 4,290 (14.73) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 228 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 151 (66.23%) males and 77 (33.77%) females. Moreover, there were total 53 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 73 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 35 females and 34 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
