Brahmapuri Rural Municipality (Sarlahi) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Brahmapuri Rural Municipality (Sarlahi district), candidate Binod Kumar Shah of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 4,237 (43.24%) votes out of total votes of 9,798 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Ram Padarath Shah Teli of Rastriya Prajatntra Party (Prajatantrik) (RPP (P)) who secured 1,858 (13.24%) of votes. The rest of 8 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,703 (18.90) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Gira Devi Raya of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 4,343 (46.61%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Sangita Mahaseth Kapari of Rastriya Prajatntra Party (Prajatantrik) (RPP (P)) secured 1,676 (12.27%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,299 (17.70) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 201 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 124 (61.69%) males and 77 (38.31%) females. Moreover, there were total 49 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 67 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 35 females and 35 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
