Bishnupur Rural Municipality (Siraha) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bishnupur Rural Municipality (Siraha district), candidate Jageshwor Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 1,940 (27.38%) votes out of total votes of 7,086 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Satya Narayan Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,280 (14.18%) of votes. The rest of 13 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,866 (27.28) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Arhula Devi Singh of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,007 (30.58%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Lalita Devi Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,220 (14.24%) of votes and came in second position. Other 7 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,336 (25.42) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 162 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 100 (61.73%) males and 62 (38.27%) females. Moreover, there were total 31 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 54 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 27 females and 26 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
