Bidur Municipality (Nuwakot) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bidur Municipality (Nuwakot district), candidate Sanju Pandit of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 9,716 (41.12%) votes out of total votes of 23,630 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Dhruba Prasad Adhikari of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 8,740 (26.21%) of votes. The rest of 7 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 5,174 (10.95) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Geeta Kumari Dahal/ Aryal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 9,124 (38.94%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Gita Amatya of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 9,102 (27.96%) of votes and came in second position. Other 6 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 5,203 (11.10) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 300 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 187 (62.33%) males and 113 (37.67%) females. Moreover, there were total 73 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 13 wards. Same as, total 108 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 54 females and 48 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
