Bideha Municipality (Dhanusa) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bideha Municipality (Dhanusa district), candidate Bechan Das Tatma of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,770 (26.56%) votes out of total votes of 10,430 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Premchandra Jha of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,614 (19.80%) of votes. The rest of 9 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 5,046 (24.19) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Nilam Kumari Devi of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,649 (26.35%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Rubi Kumari Mandal of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,521 (19.85%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 4,884 (24.29) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 250 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 161 (64.40%) males and 89 (35.60%) females. Moreover, there were total 70 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 87 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 34 females and 41 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
