Bheerkot Municipality (Syangja) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bheerkot Municipality (Syangja district), candidate Chaya Ram Khanal of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 6,284 (58.29%) votes out of total votes of 10,781 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Shantosh K.c of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 4,050 (23.73%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 447 (2.07) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Sima Karmacharya of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,937 (54.65%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Saraswati Ahdikari of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 4,249 (25.29%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 677 (3.12) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 132 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 81 (61.36%) males and 51 (38.64%) females. Moreover, there were total 30 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 48 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 22 females and 22 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
