Bhairabi Rural Municipality (Dailekh) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bhairabi Rural Municipality (Dailekh district), candidate Prem Bahadur Budha of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,584 (49.56%) votes out of total votes of 7,232 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Janardan Gyawali of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,077 (28.45%) of votes. The rest of 5 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 571 (3.95) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Padam Kumari Bista of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,483 (49.29%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Basanta Thapa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,982 (28.27%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 602 (4.26) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 144 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 84 (58.33%) males and 60 (41.67%) females. Moreover, there were total 31 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 49 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 25 females and 26 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
