Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality (Siraha) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality (Siraha district), candidate Bechan Prasad Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,058 (38.33%) votes out of total votes of 7,979 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Ugra Narayan Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 2,973 (26.94%) of votes. The rest of 9 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,948 (12.21) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Sita Devi Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,016 (37.97%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Binda Devi Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,917 (26.61%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,011 (12.66) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 152 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 86 (56.58%) males and 66 (43.42%) females. Moreover, there were total 33 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 52 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 26 females and 24 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
