Bethanchowk Rural Municipality (Kavrepalanchok) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bethanchowk Rural Municipality (Kavrepalanchok district), candidate Prem Bahadur Timilsina of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,868 (44.36%) votes out of total votes of 8,720 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Prem Kumar Tamang of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 2,741 (21.77%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,111 (12.10) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Sarita Lamichhane of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,852 (44.24%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Unnati K.c of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,841 (22.62%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,014 (11.57) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 105 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 63 (60.00%) males and 42 (40.00%) females. Moreover, there were total 19 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 39 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 19 females and 18 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
