Besishahar Municipality (Lamjung) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Besishahar Municipality (Lamjung district), candidate Guman Singh Aryal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 7,624 (50.79%) votes out of total votes of 15,010 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Bhesh Bahadur Paudel of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 7,327 (32.37%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 59 (0.20) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Laxmi Devi Adhikari of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 7,575 (50.78%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Indira Tiwari of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 6,973 (31.00%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 368 (1.23) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 147 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 87 (59.18%) males and 60 (40.82%) females. Moreover, there were total 31 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 11 wards. Same as, total 57 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 26 females and 26 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
