Baudhimai is a Municipality, which is located in Rautahat district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Baudhimai has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 35 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Baudhimai Municipality had total population of 36,265.

As of 2011, 329 population in Baudhimai Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 0.91 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 325, which equals to 1.88 percent of total 17,251 males. Same as, 4 females were absent, which equals to 0.02 percent of 16,014 females. At least one member of 267 (5.55 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Baudhimai Municipality were between 5 and 9 years of age with total 5,333. Gender wise, there were 2,720 males and 2,613 females of the same age group. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 5 and 9 (2,720), between 10 and 14 (2,367), below 4 (2,243), between 15 and 19 (1,531), and between 20 and 24 (1,181), with total population of 10,042. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (222), between 70 and 74 (299), between 65 and 69 (411),between 60 and 64 (427), and between 55 and 59 (462), with total population of 1,821. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 5 and 9 (2,613), between 10 and 14 (2,192), below 4 (2,086), between 20 and 24 (1,166), and between 30 and 34 (1,165), with total population of 9,222. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (233), between 70 and 74 (264), between 65 and 69 (339),between 55 and 59 (414), and between 50 and 54 (441), with total population of 1,691.

The population with age-group 15 to 19 had male to female ratio of 1.36, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 30 to 34 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.90. The age-groups 15 to 19, 50 to 54, 65 to 69, 70 to 74, 55 to 59, below 4, 10 to 14, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 5 to 9, 25 to 29, 20 to 24 had majority of male population while age-groups above 75, 60 to 64, 30 to 34 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 47.64 % (17,276 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 39.21 % with total number of 14,221. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 4.88 % with total number of 1,768. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 44.09 with total number of 15,989

There were 6,976 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 4,329. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 621 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 5,820 in Baudhimai Municipality with 2,858 (49.11%) of males and 2,962 (50.89%) females. There were total 16 schools. In average, 364 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Baudhimai Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Yadav caste with total population of 7,190. There were as little as Rai caste with population of as little as 13 in total. People of several other castes who live in Baudhimai are Kurmi, Kalwar, Muslim, Koiri/Kushwaha, Teli, Chamar/Harijan/Ram, Dhobi, Lohar, Tatma/Tatwa, Kathbaniyan, Kanu, Hajam/Thakur, Bin, Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi, Kumhar, Nuniya, Terai Others, Brahmin - Tarai, Sonar, Thakuri, Brahmin - Hill, Kumal, Baraee, Bangali, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Musahar, Dom, Mali, Sudhi, Damai/Dholi, Kayastha, Kamar, Bhote, Magar, Mallaha, Gharti/Bhujel, Halkhor, Kahar, Yakkha, Tamang, Chhetri, Rai, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Baudhimai Municipality are Yadav (7,190), Kurmi (4,905), Kalwar (3,079), Muslim (2,761) and Koiri/Kushwaha (2,057) with total population of 19,992, which forms 55.13 percent out of total population of 36,265 in Baudhimai Municipality.

Out of total population of 33,265, there were total 460 (1.38%) disabled persons in Baudhimai Municipality with 298 (64.78%) males and 162 (35.22%) females. The physically disabled persons were 176, while mentally disabled people were 32 and intellectually disabled were 11.

Similarly, there were 96 people who were blind and 40 people were deaf, while 10 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 65 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 30 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 4807 households in Baudhimai Municipality, there were 1,298 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 865 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 86 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 2,452houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 961 houses were mud bonded, 939 houses were cement bonded, 51 houses were wood planks bonded, 2,792 houses were bamboo bonded and 10 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 530 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 48 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,263 houses had roof of tile, 631 houses had RCC roofs, 275 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 3,941 out of 4,807 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 503 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 306 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Baudhimai Municipality, there were total 252 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 4,349 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 29 houses had covered well while 86 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (4) and river stream (0), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 2,068 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 150 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 34 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (2,436), bio-gas (6), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 1,508 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 3,214, while 27 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.31.

out of 4,807 households in Baudhimai Municipality, 434 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 4,159 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Bicycle was used by the maximum households with total users of 3,878, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 2,394.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 586 establishments in Baudhimai Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,455 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,318 and female engagement of 137 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.48 people engaged with average males are 2.25 and females are 0.23. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 9.62, which means as many as 9.62 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
