Badimalika is a Municipality, which is located in Bajura district, Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Badimalika has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 276 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Badimalika Municipality had total population of 16,818.

As of 2011, 373 population in Badimalika Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 2.22 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 287, which equals to 3.32 percent of total 8,656 males. Same as, 86 females were absent, which equals to 1.05 percent of 8,162 females. At least one member of 226 (6.56 percent) households were absent.

In contrast, bottom 5 least populated age groups were between 70 and 74 (184), above 75 (184), between 65 and 69 (297), between 60 and 64 (435), and between 55 and 59 (436) with total population of 1,536. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 5 and 9 (1,334), between 10 and 14 (1,270), below 4 (1,064), between 15 and 19 (881), and between 20 and 24 (625), with total population of 5,174. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (95), above 75 (96), between 65 and 69 (152),between 60 and 64 (216), and between 55 and 59 (237), with total population of 796. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (1,182), between 5 and 9 (1,122), below 4 (1,018), between 15 and 19 (846), and between 20 and 24 (704), with total population of 4,872. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (88), between 70 and 74 (89), between 65 and 69 (145),between 55 and 59 (199), and between 60 and 64 (219), with total population of 740.

The population with age-group 45 to 49 had male to female ratio of 1.23, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.88. The age-groups 45 to 49, 5 to 9, 55 to 59, 35 to 39, 50 to 54, above 75, 10 to 14, 70 to 74, below 4, 65 to 69, 15 to 19, 30 to 34, 40 to 44 had majority of male population while age-groups 60 to 64, 20 to 24, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 54.48 % (9,163 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 41.56 % with total number of 6,990. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 3.95 % with total number of 665. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 45.52 with total number of 7,655

There were 3,864 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 2,082. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 539 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 3,290 in Badimalika Municipality with 1,571 (47.75%) of males and 1,719 (52.25%) females. There were total 28 schools. In average, 118 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Badimalika Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 10,411. There were as little as Terai Others caste with population of as little as 19 in total. People of several other castes who live in Badimalika are Brahmin - Hill, Lohar, Kami, Damai/Dholi, Thakuri, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Badi, Sarki, Bhote, Dalit Others, Gurung, Newar, Tharu, Tamang, Terai Others, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Badimalika Municipality are Chhetri (10,411), Brahmin - Hill (1,603), Lohar (1,324), Kami (980) and Damai/Dholi (614) with total population of 14,932, which forms 88.79 percent out of total population of 16,818 in Badimalika Municipality.

Out of total population of 16,818, there were total 899 (5.35%) disabled persons in Badimalika Municipality with 490 (54.51%) males and 409 (45.49%) females. The physically disabled persons were 451, while mentally disabled people were 33 and intellectually disabled were 11.

Similarly, there were 160 people who were blind and 142 people were deaf, while 8 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 50 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 44 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 3446 households in Badimalika Municipality, there were 3,176 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 74 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 2 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 70houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 3,134 houses were mud bonded, 107 houses were cement bonded, 41 houses were wood planks bonded, 5 houses were bamboo bonded and 2 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 491 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 216 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 2,616 houses had roof of tile, 54 houses had RCC roofs, 1 houses had roof of woods while 2 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 1,926 out of 3,446 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 773 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 728 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Badimalika Municipality, there were total 2,641 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 0 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 20 houses had covered well while 115 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (429) and river stream (211), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 3,421 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 0 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 0 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (0), bio-gas (3), fuel electricity (3), etc.

Same as, total 1,938 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 53, while 277 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.56.

out of 3,446 households in Badimalika Municipality, 658 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,726 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,173, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,632.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 836 establishments in Badimalika Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 2,156 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,435 and female engagement of 721 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.58 people engaged with average males are 1.72 and females are 0.86. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.99, which means as many as 1.99 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
