Ajirkot is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Gorkha district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Ajirkot has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 198 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ajirkot Rural Municipality had total population of 14,802.

As of 2011, 1,737 population in Ajirkot Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 11.73 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 1,524, which equals to 21.27 percent of total 7,165 males. Same as, 213 females were absent, which equals to 2.52 percent of 8,437 females. At least one member of 1,168 (32.28 percent) households were absent.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (1,039), between 15 and 19 (898), between 5 and 9 (831), below 4 (696), and between 20 and 24 (416), with total population of 3,880. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (222), between 65 and 69 (237), between 35 and 39 (274),between 60 and 64 (282), and between 40 and 44 (290), with total population of 1,305. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 15 and 19 (1,009), between 10 and 14 (1,006), between 5 and 9 (801), between 20 and 24 (694), and below 4 (683), with total population of 4,193. The population with age-group 70 to 74 had male to female ratio of 1.23, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.53. The age-groups 70 to 74, 65 to 69, above 75, 5 to 9, 10 to 14, below 4 had majority of male population while age-groups 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 15 to 19, 45 to 49, 60 to 64, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 61.32 % (9,076 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 34.16 % with total number of 5,056. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 9.93 % with total number of 1,470. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 44.09 with total number of 6,526

There were 4,136 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 1,379. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 333 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 7,479 in Ajirkot Rural Municipality with 3,554 (47.52%) of males and 3,925 (52.48%) females. There were total 35 schools. In average, 214 students were studying in each school.

There were as little as Tharu caste with population of as little as 13 in total. People of several other castes who live in Ajirkot are Brahmin - Hill, Tamang, Sarki, Kami, Chhetri, Damai/Dholi, Magar, Newar, Ghale, Gharti/Bhujel, Sherpa, Muslim, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Dalit Others, Tharu, Marwadi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Ajirkot Rural Municipality are Gurung (5,394), Brahmin - Hill (3,289), Tamang (2,015), Sarki (1,276) and Kami (1,113) with total population of 13,087, which forms 88.41 percent out of total population of 14,802 in Ajirkot Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 15,602, there were total 389 (2.49%) disabled persons in Ajirkot Rural Municipality with 213 (54.76%) males and 176 (45.24%) females. The physically disabled persons were 153, while mentally disabled people were 24 and intellectually disabled were 11.

Similarly, there were 47 people who were blind and 46 people were deaf, while 7 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 62 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 39 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 3618 households in Ajirkot Rural Municipality, there were 3,435 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 23 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 142houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 3,384 houses were mud bonded, 55 houses were cement bonded, 97 houses were wood planks bonded, 54 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 470 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 555 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 2,474 houses had roof of tile, 8 houses had RCC roofs, 87 houses had roof of woods while 1 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 703 out of 3,618 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 1,625 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 1,276 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Ajirkot Rural Municipality, there were total 3,312 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 0 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 4 houses had covered well while 19 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (250) and river stream (18), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 3,489 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 39 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 59 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (0), bio-gas (14), fuel electricity (1), etc.

Same as, total 2,215 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,294, while 87 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.61.

out of 3,618 households in Ajirkot Rural Municipality, 708 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,824 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,355, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,832.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 713 establishments in Ajirkot Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,579 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 925 and female engagement of 654 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.21 people engaged with average males are 1.30 and females are 0.92. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.41, which means as many as 1.41 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
