Aandhikhola Rural Municipality (Syangja) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Aandhikhola Rural Municipality (Syangja district), candidate Sudhir Kumar Paudel of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,041 (59.71%) votes out of total votes of 8,442 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Pradip Kuma Paudel (chhetri) of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,086 (22.89%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 315 (1.87) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Sarmila Devi Paudel ( Chhetri) of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,085 (60.85%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Gita Devi Chapai of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,862 (21.29%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 409 (2.45) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 108 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 65 (60.19%) males and 43 (39.81%) females. Moreover, there were total 18 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 41 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 20 females and 19 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
