Krishnapur is a Municipality located in Kanchanpur District of Nepal. It has total 9 wards and 253 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 census, it had total population of 56,643.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Krishnapur Municipality had total 56,643 population with 27,059 males and 29,584 females. Out of total wards, ward number 2 had the largest population 9,719, while ward number 3 had least number of population with 9,719.
With respect to number of households, Krishnapur Municipality had total 10,016 households. The ward number 2 had most households with total 1,876, while ward number 3 had least number of households with total 509 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.91, which indicates that Krishnapur Municipality had 9 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 5.66, which means that in average 5.66 family members lived in each household.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (4,319), between 5 and 9 (3,884), between 15 and 19 (3,094), below 4 (3,016), and between 20 and 24 (2,199), with total population of 16,512. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (319), between 70 and 74 (376), between 65 and 69 (475),between 55 and 59 (685), and between 60 and 64 (695), with total population of 2,550. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (4,194), between 5 and 9 (3,668), between 15 and 19 (3,355), between 20 and 24 (3,010), and below 4 (2,877), with total population of 17,104. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (331), above 75 (359), between 65 and 69 (467),between 55 and 59 (725), and between 50 and 54 (849), with total population of 2,731.
The population with age-group 70 to 74 had male to female ratio of 1.14, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 30 to 34 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.72. The age-groups 70 to 74, 5 to 9, below 4, 10 to 14, 50 to 54, 65 to 69 had majority of male population while age-groups 55 to 59, 15 to 19, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, above 75, 35 to 39, 60 to 64, 25 to 29, 20 to 24, 30 to 34 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

Population Ratios
There were 57.13 % (32,358 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 38.77 % with total number of 21,958. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 4.11 % with total number of 2,327. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 42.87 with total number of 24,285
There were 15,263 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 5,893. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 386 children were born per 1,000 women. Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Krishnapur is Doteli, which is spoken by 26,209 people. The Krishnapur has people who speak other languages, such as Tharu, Nepali, Achhami, Magar, Baitadeli, Bajhangi, Darchuleli, Bajureli, Raji, Hindi, Maithili, Dadeldhuri, Tamang, Bhojpuri, Gurung, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Krishnapur Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Tharu caste with total population of 20,508. There were as little as Brahmin - Tarai caste with population of as little as 15 in total. People of several other castes who live in Krishnapur are Chhetri, Brahmin - Hill, Kami, Dalit Others, Magar, Thakuri, Damai/Dholi, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Sarki, Badi, Lohar, Raji, Kumal, Haluwai, Newar, Rajput, Tamang, Chamar/Harijan/Ram, Terai Others, Rai, Thami, Limbu, Raute, Gurung, Brahmin - Tarai, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.
Top five castes of people in Krishnapur Municipality are Tharu (20,508), Chhetri (17,056), Brahmin - Hill (7,113), Kami (3,276) and Dalit Others (1,887) with total population of 49,840, which forms 87.99 percent out of total population of 56,643 in Krishnapur Municipality.Population by Disability
Similarly, there were 243 people who were blind and 154 people were deaf, while 28 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 134 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 105 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
With respect to wall of the houses, 404 houses were mud bonded, 1,419 houses were cement bonded, 6,893 houses were wood planks bonded, 944 houses were bamboo bonded and 23 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 443 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 401 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 8,004 houses had roof of tile, 884 houses had RCC roofs, 168 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.
With respect to the toilets, 5,641 out of 10,016 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 2,232 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 2,098 houses reported having ordinary toilets.
Utilities
With reference to source of fuel, 9,563 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 31 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 45 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (8), bio-gas (320), fuel electricity (0), etc.
Same as, total 8,354 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,482, while 35 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.83.
Facilities
Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 715 establishments in Krishnapur Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 2,253 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,500 and female engagement of 753 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.15 people engaged with average males are 2.10 and females are 1.05. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.99, which means as many as 1.99 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 66.58 percent while the females are 33.42 percent.
