Dilasaini is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Baitadi district, Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Dilasaini has total 7 wards, which are scattered across 125 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Dilasaini Rural Municipality had total population of 22,924.

As of 2011, 981 population in Dilasaini Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 4.28 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 848, which equals to 7.72 percent of total 10,990 males. Same as, 133 females were absent, which equals to 1.11 percent of 11,934 females. At least one member of 658 (16.01 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Dilasaini Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 3,219. The median age-group of total population falls between 35 and 39 and between 40 and 44 with average population of 1,116.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (1,605), between 5 and 9 (1,551), below 4 (1,520), between 15 and 19 (1,208), and between 20 and 24 (766), with total population of 6,650. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (186), above 75 (190), between 65 and 69 (238),between 60 and 64 (302), and between 55 and 59 (315), with total population of 1,231. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (1,614), between 5 and 9 (1,592), below 4 (1,400), between 15 and 19 (1,274), and between 20 and 24 (1,064), with total population of 6,944. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (210), between 70 and 74 (212), between 65 and 69 (273),between 55 and 59 (312), and between 60 and 64 (374), with total population of 1,381.

The population with age-group 45 to 49 had male to female ratio of 1.10, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.72. The age-groups 45 to 49, below 4, 50 to 54, 55 to 59 had majority of male population while age-groups 10 to 14, 5 to 9, 15 to 19, above 75, 70 to 74, 65 to 69, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 60 to 64, 20 to 24, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 53.80 % (12,333 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 40.49 % with total number of 9,282. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 5.71 % with total number of 1,309. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 46.20 with total number of 10,591

There were 5,566 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 2,920. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 525 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 10,501 in Dilasaini Rural Municipality with 5,067 (48.25%) of males and 5,434 (51.75%) females. There were total 59 schools. In average, 178 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Dilasaini Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 14,330. There were as little as Magar caste with population of as little as 13 in total. People of several other castes who live in Dilasaini are Brahmin - Hill, Dalit Others, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Kami, Lohar, Thakuri, Terai Others, Damai/Dholi, Sarki, Hajam/Thakur, Magar, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Dilasaini Rural Municipality are Chhetri (14,330), Brahmin - Hill (3,023), Dalit Others (2,021), Sanyasi/Dashnami (1,837) and Kami (806) with total population of 22,017, which forms 96.04 percent out of total population of 22,924 in Dilasaini Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 22,924, there were total 730 (3.18%) disabled persons in Dilasaini Rural Municipality with 420 (57.53%) males and 310 (42.47%) females. The physically disabled persons were 342, while mentally disabled people were 39 and intellectually disabled were 19.

Similarly, there were 126 people who were blind and 108 people were deaf, while 21 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 35 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 40 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 4110 households in Dilasaini Rural Municipality, there were 3,991 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 97 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 5 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 3houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 3,670 houses were mud bonded, 396 houses were cement bonded, 23 houses were wood planks bonded, 3 houses were bamboo bonded and 5 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 63 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 42 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,881 houses had roof of tile, 102 houses had RCC roofs, 0 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 3,200 out of 4,110 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 641 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 260 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Dilasaini Rural Municipality, there were total 2,484 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 5 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 81 houses had covered well while 570 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (382) and river stream (442), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 4,068 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 15 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 4 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (6), bio-gas (6), fuel electricity (0), etc.

Same as, total 142 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,658, while 1,414 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.03.

out of 4,110 households in Dilasaini Rural Municipality, 1,320 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,694 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,358, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,386.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 326 establishments in Dilasaini Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 915 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 595 and female engagement of 320 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.81 people engaged with average males are 1.83 and females are 0.98. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.86, which means as many as 1.86 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
