Khairahani is a Municipality, which is located in Chitwan district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Khairahani has total 13 wards, which are scattered across 86 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Khairahani Municipality had total population of 56,094.

As of 2011, 5,188 population in Khairahani Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 9.25 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 4,728, which equals to 18.13 percent of total 26,075 males. Same as, 460 females were absent, which equals to 1.53 percent of 30,019 females. At least one member of 4,092 (33.18 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Khairahani Municipality were between 15 and 19 years of age with total 7,066. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 10 and 14 with total 3,469 while female population falls between 15 and 19 with total 3,636 population. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 923 population, which consistes of 469 males and 454 females. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (3,469), between 15 and 19 (3,430), between 5 and 9 (2,486), between 20 and 24 (2,146), and below 4 (1,988), with total population of 13,519. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (469), above 75 (685), between 65 and 69 (692),between 60 and 64 (809), and between 55 and 59 (945), with total population of 3,600. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 15 and 19 (3,636), between 10 and 14 (3,388), between 20 and 24 (3,328), between 25 and 29 (2,908), and between 5 and 9 (2,415), with total population of 15,675. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (454), between 65 and 69 (645), above 75 (663),between 60 and 64 (852), and between 55 and 59 (916), with total population of 3,530.

The population with age-group below 4 had male to female ratio of 1.14, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.58. The age-groups below 4, 65 to 69, 5 to 9, 55 to 59, 70 to 74, above 75, 10 to 14, 50 to 54 had majority of male population while age-groups 60 to 64, 15 to 19, 45 to 49, 40 to 44, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 20 to 24, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 65.95 % (36,996 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 27.61 % with total number of 15,490. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 6.43 % with total number of 3,608. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 34.05 with total number of 19,098

There were 17,685 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 3,732. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 211 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 10,553 in Khairahani Municipality with 5,188 (49.16%) of males and 5,365 (50.84%) females. There were total 51 schools. In average, 207 students were studying in each school.

Top five castes of people in Khairahani Municipality are Tharu (15,217), Brahmin - Hill (14,389), Chhetri (7,931), Darai (2,933) and Tamang (2,436) with total population of 42,906, which forms 76.49 percent out of total population of 56,094 in Khairahani Municipality.

Out of total population of 56,094, there were total 1,011 (1.80%) disabled persons in Khairahani Municipality with 566 (55.98%) males and 445 (44.02%) females. The physically disabled persons were 309, while mentally disabled people were 75 and intellectually disabled were 42.

Similarly, there were 135 people who were blind and 154 people were deaf, while 43 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 142 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 111 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 12331 households in Khairahani Municipality, there were 3,042 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 3,731 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1,891 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 3,528houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 2,753 houses were mud bonded, 6,251 houses were cement bonded, 431 houses were wood planks bonded, 1,826 houses were bamboo bonded and 35 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,179 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 6,855 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 556 houses had roof of tile, 3,537 houses had RCC roofs, 40 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 757 out of 12,331 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 8,433 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 3,094 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Khairahani Municipality, there were total 4,284 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 7,312 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 120 houses had covered well while 394 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (6) and river stream (4), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 6,473 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 69 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 3,960 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (32), bio-gas (1,455), fuel electricity (35), etc.

Same as, total 11,914 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 314, while 7 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.97.

out of 12,331 households in Khairahani Municipality, 422 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 11,750 households reported of using at least one facility. According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 2,749 establishments in Khairahani Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 10,770 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 6,807 and female engagement of 3,963 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.92 people engaged with average males are 2.48 and females are 1.44. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.72, which means as many as 1.72 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
