Mithila Bihari is a Municipality, which is located in Dhanusa district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Mithila Bihari has total 10 wards, which are scattered across 38 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Mithila Bihari Municipality had total population of 33,521.

As of 2011, 3,408 population in Mithila Bihari Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 10.17 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 3,403, which equals to 20.34 percent of total 16,734 males. Same as, 5 females were absent, which equals to 0.03 percent of 16,822 females. At least one member of 2,668 (43.98 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Mithila Bihari Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 4,671. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 10 and 14 with total 2,479 while female population falls between 5 and 9 with total 2,230 population. The median age-group of total population falls between 35 and 39 and between 40 and 44 with average population of 1,895.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (2,479), between 5 and 9 (2,321), below 4 (1,770), between 15 and 19 (1,680), and between 20 and 24 (1,381), with total population of 9,631. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (216), between 70 and 74 (251), between 65 and 69 (354),between 60 and 64 (512), and between 55 and 59 (612), with total population of 1,945. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 5 and 9 (2,230), between 10 and 14 (2,192), below 4 (1,724), between 20 and 24 (1,409), and between 15 and 19 (1,408), with total population of 8,963. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (191), between 70 and 74 (260), between 65 and 69 (324),between 60 and 64 (478), and between 55 and 59 (508), with total population of 1,761.

The population with age-group 55 to 59 had male to female ratio of 1.20, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 30 to 34 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.70. The age-groups 55 to 59, 15 to 19, 10 to 14, above 75, 65 to 69, 50 to 54, 60 to 64, 5 to 9, below 4 had majority of male population while age-groups 20 to 24, 45 to 49, 70 to 74, 40 to 44, 25 to 29, 35 to 39, 30 to 34 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 57.41 % (19,244 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 37.93 % with total number of 12,716. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 4.76 % with total number of 1,596. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 42.70 with total number of 14,312

There were 8,307 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 3,494. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 421 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 8,197 in Mithila Bihari Municipality with 3,978 (48.53%) of males and 4,219 (51.47%) females. There were total 16 schools. In average, 512 students were studying in each school.

Top five castes of people in Mithila Bihari Municipality are Yadav (10,326), Dhanuk (4,901), Muslim (2,666), Sudhi (1,671) and Tatma/Tatwa (1,669) with total population of 21,233, which forms 63.34 percent out of total population of 33,521 in Mithila Bihari Municipality.

Out of total population of 33,556, there were total 592 (1.76%) disabled persons in Mithila Bihari Municipality with 333 (56.25%) males and 259 (43.75%) females. The physically disabled persons were 154, while mentally disabled people were 44 and intellectually disabled were 28.

Similarly, there were 104 people who were blind and 42 people were deaf, while 12 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 52 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 156 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 6066 households in Mithila Bihari Municipality, there were 311 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,139 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 90 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 4,300houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 172 houses were mud bonded, 1,159 houses were cement bonded, 80 houses were wood planks bonded, 4,409 houses were bamboo bonded and 6 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,129 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 74 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,884 houses had roof of tile, 675 houses had RCC roofs, 90 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 4,557 out of 6,066 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 896 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 475 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Mithila Bihari Municipality, there were total 504 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 5,345 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 4 houses had covered well while 11 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (2) and river stream (0), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 1,779 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 47 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 56 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (3,919), bio-gas (13), fuel electricity (4), etc.

Same as, total 4,496 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,402, while 15 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.74.

out of 6,066 households in Mithila Bihari Municipality, 739 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 5,074 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.MobilePhone was used by the maximum households with total users of 4,309, while Bicycle was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 3,563.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 574 establishments in Mithila Bihari Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,560 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,214 and female engagement of 346 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.72 people engaged with average males are 2.11 and females are 0.60. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 3.51, which means as many as 3.51 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
