Bungal Municipality (Bajhang) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bungal Municipality (Bajhang district), candidate Dhan Bahadur Bista of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,259 (43.67%) votes out of total votes of 12,043 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Dhan Bahadur Bohara of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 4,523 (26.14%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 2,261 (9.39) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Mina Devi Bohara (jagri) of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,360 (45.50%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Dhan Devi Kunwar of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 4,589 (26.77%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 1,831 (7.77) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 167 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 100 (59.88%) males and 67 (40.12%) females. Moreover, there were total 33 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 11 wards. Same as, total 64 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 32 females and 31 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
