In 2017 election of Ribdikot Rural Municipality (Palpa district), candidate Narayan Bahadur G.c of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,693 (40.60%) votes out of total votes of 9,097 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Lila Bahadur Karki of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 2,848 (22.27%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,556 (14.05) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Laxmi Khanal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,798 (45.86%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Kamala Chahari of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,797 (23.15%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,687 (10.18) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 127 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 74 (58.27%) males and 53 (41.73%) females. Moreover, there were total 25 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 8 wards. Same as, total 48 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 24 females and 24 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
