Resunga Municipality (Gulmi) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Resunga Municipality (Gulmi district), candidate Dilliraj Bhusal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 6,405 (48.52%) votes out of total votes of 13,201 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Bhuvan Prasad Shrestha of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 6,218 (31.71%) of votes. The rest of 6 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 578 (2.19) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Sita Bhandari of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 6,228 (47.47%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Amrita Devi Kunwar of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 6,221 (32.15%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 672 (2.56) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 204 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 127 (62.25%) males and 77 (37.75%) females. Moreover, there were total 49 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 14 wards. Same as, total 74 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 34 females and 33 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
