Bungdikali Rural Municipality (Nawalparasi_E) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bungdikali Rural Municipality (Nawalparasi_E district), candidate Durga Bahadur Rana of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,191 (50.97%) votes out of total votes of 6,261 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Shyam Sundar Shrestha of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 3,039 (32.15%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 31 (0.25) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Maya Devi Shrestha of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,173 (50.49%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Dil Kumari K.c Saru of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,010 (31.82%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 102 (0.81) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 71 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 45 (63.38%) males and 26 (36.62%) females. Moreover, there were total 15 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 25 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 12 females and 12 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
