Madhyanepal Municipality (Lamjung) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Madhyanepal Municipality (Lamjung district), candidate Ramesh Kumar Pandey of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,968 (56.00%) votes out of total votes of 10,657 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Mohan Hari Paudel of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 4,547 (27.35%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 142 (0.67) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Raj Kumar Shrestha of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,566 (50.92%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Sita Shahi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,332 (32.32%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 33 (0.15) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 120 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 75 (62.50%) males and 45 (37.50%) females. Moreover, there were total 27 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 10 wards. Same as, total 45 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 21 females and 20 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
