Manahari Rural Municipality (Makwanpur) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Manahari Rural Municipality (Makwanpur district), candidate Ek Raj Upreti of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 4,649 (36.26%) votes out of total votes of 12,823 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Shankar Neupane of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 4,340 (24.84%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,834 (14.95) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Manila Bista of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 4,631 (36.34%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Kamala Karki of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 4,167 (23.99%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,944 (15.48) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 211 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 127 (60.19%) males and 84 (39.81%) females. Moreover, there were total 45 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 80 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 41 females and 34 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
