In 2017 election of Panchakanya Rural Municipality (Nuwakot district), candidate Tej Bahadur Tamang of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,962 (37.47%) votes out of total votes of 7,904 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Rameshwor Thapa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,854 (26.27%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,088 (13.21) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Sita Parajuli/ Khadka of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,793 (36.06%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Prakriti Rizal of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,578 (24.46%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,374 (15.33) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 112 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 69 (61.61%) males and 43 (38.39%) females. Moreover, there were total 23 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 39 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 21 females and 17 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
