Chautara Sangachowkgadhi Municipality (Sindhupalchok) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Chautara Sangachowkgadhi Municipality (Sindhupalchok district), candidate Aman Singh Tamang of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 7,729 (38.91%) votes out of total votes of 19,862 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Som Bahadur Sapkota of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 5,806 (21.04%) of votes. The rest of 6 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 6,327 (15.93) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Januka Parajuli of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 7,742 (39.76%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Sita Thapa of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 6,376 (23.43%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 5,353 (13.75) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 305 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 182 (59.67%) males and 123 (40.33%) females. Moreover, there were total 67 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 14 wards. Same as, total 110 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 60 females and 53 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
